Instalation notes

  • MS Windows: 1) download the qtEmpiricus.exe auto-installer file, 2) double-click on it to install the software. Once Empiricus is installed, remove the qtEmpiricus.exe file and empty your trash.
  • Mac OS X: 1) download the compressed file, 2) double-click on it to extract the qtEmpiricus.dmg file, 3) double-click on qtEmpiricus.dmg to open it up, 4) Finder will open a qtEmpiricus window, 5) drag the into the Applications folder. Once Empiricus is installed, close the qtEmpiricus window, eject the qtEmpiricus image, remove the and qtEmpiricus.dmg files, and empty your trash. To generate graphs with qtEmpiricus you also need to drag the into the Applications folder.
  • Linux (Debian 6, Ubuntu 12.01, Fedora 17, OpenSuse 12.2): 1) download the compressed qtEmpiricus.tar.gz file, 2) double-click on it to extract the binary qtEmpiricus file, 3) right-click on the qtEmpiricus binary file to open the qtEmpiricus Properties dialog, check the “Allow executing file as program” on the Permissions tab and close the dialog. Now, you can launch Empiricus by double-clincking. Do not forget to remove the qtEmpiricus.tar.gz and empty the trash. You need to install the Gnuplot program to generate graphs with qtEmpiricus. You could also need to install the qtwebkit library.
